Originally adopted from Humane Society Silicon Valley as a kitten, outgoing Alpine had several strikes against him. Like most cats with his coloring, he was deaf, and he had recently begun having litter box accidents and brawling with the other cat in the home.

After five years, the disabled cat was returned to HSSV with a bad reputation. They welcomed him with open arms. Not willing to give up on him, HSSV’s behavior and medical staff looked for the source of his recent behavior problems.
Through x-rays and tests, they discovered Alpine suffered from a chronic bladder issue. Fine most of the time, the rare flare up can cause litter box issues. Once HSSV had his medical issues under control, the hunt was on to find a special home that could accommodate his deafness and be understanding about the occasional bathroom woopsy.

Despite his loving demeanor, this would take time. Four months after coming to Humane Society Silicon Valley, Alpine finally found his perfect home with a patient cat lover.
