Animals make our lives whole, but also leave a hole in our hearts when it comes time to say goodbye. As pet parents we all know the heartbreak and are only able to get through it by thinking about all the good times.
Country music star and animal rescue advocate, Miranda Lambert, is mourning the devastating loss of her two precious miniature horses, Sugar Pie and Adrianna. She shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook along with photos of her and her husband with the horses.

After 18 amazing years being the mom to Sugar Pie and Adrianna, the time came for them to cross the rainbow bridge. She wrote, “I can’t tell you how much joy they brought me. The best part about being an animal mom is the joy. The worst part is when the time comes to say goodbye.”
She went on to thank everyone who has helped care for them over the years. “Full of gratitude for them and for Tommy, Julia and Sarah and everyone who helped take care of them and give them the best life when I was on the road all these years.”
Miranda finished the post with, “Godspeed little bitty’s. I know you are both in greener pastures as I type this. I’ll see y’all again one day. Big love.”
Her fans and friends shared their condolences and thanked her for giving the little horses the best life. Miranda is a mom to many other animals, including rescue dogs, and will surely take comfort in being with them.
We want to thank her for advocating for shelter pets. Her nonprofit organization, MuttNation, supports shelters and encourages people to adopt not shop. Watch her interact with adoptable animals at Seattle Humane.
