Abused Dog Dumped on Side of Road to Die Finally Gets Care He Needs to Heal

Apollo has endured unimaginable suffering and loss. He was found barely alive on the side of the road in Oklahoma.

The poor dog was covered in cigarette burns, matted fur, and deep slashes on his face. He had clearly been abused or used in dog fighting and dumped on the side of the road to die.

What broke rescuers hearts even more was that Apollo was found next to his deceased canine friend and refused to leave his side.

Luvin Pawz Rescue told us, “Despite his own pain, Apollo refused to leave him. He stayed by his side, loyal to the very end. Even after everything he had endured, Apollo’s spirit never gave up.”

The sweet dog received a warm bath and grooming to remove all the matted hair as well as treatment for his wounds. He also arrived malnourished and thanks to your donations he is slowly regaining his strength and trust in humans.

Apollo is transforming into the dog he was always meant to be. His caretakers shared, “With each meal, he grows stronger. His eyes are brighter. His trust is slowly returning. Every bite has helped bring him back to life.”

Your donations are making a difference in the lives of homeless animals. The rescue and Apollo are beyond grateful for your donations and said, “You did not just feed a dog—you fed hope, love, and the belief that there is still good in the world. With immense gratitude.”
