Kitten ‘Screaming Its Head Off’ Rescued Just in Time During Storms

Around 6 a.m., I could hear it – a cat in distress, screaming from the woods behind my house. We had been having storms all night and it was still stormy, but I had to go to work and it just wasn’t feasible for me to go in search of the cat. I told myself that if I came home from work and I could still hear it, I’d do something.

Sure enough, at 3:00 in the afternoon, it was still crying and off I went! The area was below the bluff that my house sits on, near the river. Driving and listening, I found it, soaking wet from the storms we had during the day, screaming its head off, about 12 feet up a tree.

I was able to coax it down to me, and he practically jumped into my arms after a harrowing descent! Lucky for him that I found him when I did because 40 minutes later, we had a massive storm that blew over trees all over the area!

I named him Timber because of his being found in a tree and what happened to my heart. I searched for a home for him, but he made his way into our hearts and home instead. He wants nothing to do with going outside and constantly wants to be held.

He’s a lovey snuggle bug that cannot get enough cuddles and always wants to be by your face and neck. His new big brother, Smudge, took a couple days to get used to him, but now they’re shaping up to be best buds!
