Lost Woman Stops For Directions And A Shelter Dog Chooses Her

I wasn’t looking to adopt, I got lost on the way home and stopped at the local shelter to ask directions. I promised myself I wouldn’t look at all the dogs needing a good home.

Yet, I was draw to one pen, he hung back when all the others came charging, scars on his head from a bad start.

He looked a me with big brown eyes showing fear, but past the fear HOPE. Hope for a better life, his eyes said okay I pick you!

Since that day a year ago that scared pup has grow into his own! He is secure within himself. He passed all his tests to become a certified therapy dog for BARK.

He goes to libraries to encourage children to read, gives kisses to all he meets, and dances when I come home from work.

Some say it’s silly to think dogs pick you but I know I was so incredible lucky for Petey to have chosen me!

Not a day goes by he doesn’t make me laugh, or let’s me know it’s you I love without conditions. He thinks he got lucky but truth to told I hit the lotto with my sweet Petey.
