Mama Dog and Newborn Puppies Rescued from Building About to Be Demolished

Your donations are helping feed and care for neglected and homeless animals near and far. Read how you helped a neglected mama named Sasha and her surviving newborn puppies in Italy.

When residents in Southern Italy were forced to leave unsafe apartments, Greater Good Charities’ partner Lega Anti Vivisezione (LAV) was there to help provide supplies and support to pet owners.

The buildings were going to be demolished and all who lived there needed to leave, including animals.

Volunteers found a pregnant dog living in a garage that clearly needed help. The next day they returned and discovered that she had given birth. They brought a bed, food, and heating lamp – but it was too late for three of the newborn puppies.

They arranged transportation to their veterinary clinic in Rome for Sasha and her remaining puppies so they could get the medical care they needed to survive and thrive.

With proper care and nutrition, Sasha and her puppies are thriving in their foster home. The puppies were named Rosa, Lilibeth, Polpetta, Billy Joe, and Avena.

They will soon be ready to find homes of their own and live long, healthy lives. Thank you for your support to help animals in need around the world.
