Early in the morning of August 20, 85 dogs and 52 cats were taken out of overcrowded shelters and boarded a Flight to Freedom, thanks to your support.
The flight took off from Louisiana and made its first stop in New Jersey to drop off dozens of animals to shelters with volunteers waiting on the tarmac.

The final destination was New Hampshire where the remaining dogs and cats were unloaded into the arms of smiling shelter staff and volunteers.
Dogs, like Remus, will get the second chance they deserve and are beyond grateful for your support.

This flight was part of the annual NBCUniversal Local’s Clear the Shelters campaign to get as many animals as possible into forever homes in the month of August. There are over 1,700 participating shelters, including one near you. Check them out if you are ready to adopt.

St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in New Jersey took in over 100 animals from the flight, including Remus. They shared, “None of it would happen without the shelters, fosters, adopters, volunteers, and supporters who show what’s possible when a community comes together. Because when shelters are full, hope takes flight.”

Your generosity has saved lives. We want to thank you for your continued support of our monthly Flight to Freedom that saves animals from overcrowded shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia and flies them to shelters with open kennels to find a loving home.

Donate today to help save more lives on next month’s flight.
