A Lab For Life shared a heartwarming story about how donated pet food is helping a rescued puppy thrive.
Seven puppies born as an “accidental litter” in rural Oklahoma. They were being offered for “free” and the rescue stepped in to ensure they found the homes they deserved.
They are a mix of golden retriever, lab, and poodle. The adorable pups were all named after baseball things with the largest puppy named “Roger Hornsby”, who goes by Hornsby.
At three months old, he weighs thirty-three pounds and continues to grow. The rescue shared, “nothing but Purina One large breed puppy formula can keep up with his appetite”.

Hornsby is a sweetheart and will surely find a loving home soon. He is so grateful that his food bowl is always full and sends his thanks.
The rescue is also grateful for the support and told us, “Supplying food for a foster pup can be a big burden and a barrier for volunteers. A Lab For Life is so grateful for the generous donations! We truly couldn’t save these pups without the support! The only thing a dog needs more than love is FOOD!”
