Fluffy and Forest were found in an alley next to their dead mom and siblings. They were covered in fleas, malnourished, anemic, and parasite-ridden.

My boyfriend and I have a reputation for taking in any stray or feral that comes our way. We received a call that these kittens, while having their first vet visit, had already gone through three homes and needed extensive care. Our last litter had just grow up enough to not need 24-hour care, so we gladly accepted them.

I have taken care of strays and ferals for quite some time, but nothing could have prepared me for these two boys. Small, scared and sad, they cried a lot. We took care of their fleas and parasites, and got them fed, but I couldn’t take away their emotional scars.

Bright Eyes, a feral gone domestic, swooped in. I laid the kittens next to her, and she instantly took to them. Forest buried his face in Bright Eyes’ fur and whimpered for hours. My heart broke. Since then, they’ve been inseparable.

While the kittens are no longer sad, they are still terrified of humans, especially men and kids. We are making every effort to ease their fears, and only time and extra love can heal their wounds!
