Animal shelters nationwide are overflowing with homeless dogs and cats as new ones continue to arrive. Many of the arrivals are malnourished and in desperate need of nutritious food.
Their minimal budgets cannot provide the food and care for all these animals while they spend longer in the shelter waiting for a home.
We want to help spread cheer and joy to these shelter animals by making sure they have full bellies with our Holiday Pet Food Drive. We need your continued support to help feed them and give them the second chance they deserve.
Your donations will help feed cats and dogs who arrive in poor condition, like Callan, Butternut, Slim Jim, and Sissy.
Callan

This old stray fella was rescued by A Lab for Life who was captivated by his soulful eyes. He arrived severely neglected with open wounds, missing fur, inflamed skin, and emaciated. He was struggling to survive on his own and needs nutritious food and love.
He is finally getting the medical care he needs but has a long road to recovery. Help make sure his bowl is always full and he never goes hungry again.
Butternut

The tiny kitten was rescued from the streets malnourished and struggling to see. Friends of Metro Animal Shelters told us, “One of her eyes was deformed, the other was covered in ulcers.”

Butternut needs many nutritious meals to regain her strength so she can receive the medical care she needs. Help her grow big and strong by donating food to her and animals like her.
Slim Jim

This severely neglect dog was barely clinging to life when he arrived at an animal hospital as a stray. He was starving with every rib visible and had been eating rubber bands and household debris in an attempt to survive.
“His bones jutted sharply beneath his skin, and his eyes were dull from exhaustion and pain,” recalls Pennsylvania SPCA who stepped up to help.
A further examination revealed that he was suffering from more than just extreme hunger. He has painful arthritis, untreated ear infections, intestinal parasites, and Lyme disease.
He will need to have many small meals to introduce food back to his emaciated body and give him the strength he needs to survive. He has been through so much and needs our support to heal.
Sissy

A kindhearted person spotted a timid stray dog at a local cemetery and would bring food for her. She was too shy to allow anyone to get close but would eat the food. She was in horrible shape and in need of further care.
Helping Paws Animal Rescue was able to capture her and have her properly examined. The poor dog was covered in fleas, ticks, matted fur, infections, riddled with internal parasites, and severely malnourished.

Her caretakers shared, “Her prognosis was touch-and-go for many days,” but Sissy survived. She has a long road to recovery and will need nutritious food to make a full recovery.
With adoptions down and intakes up, animal shelters need our help more than ever. Donate today to help feed shelter pets and save lives.
