A stray dog who was trying her best to care for 11 puppies got the care she needed to keep her family alive, thanks to you.
Jessica had been seen around a neighborhood in Fayetteville, North Carolina, for months, but no one could capture her and bring her to safety because she was afraid of people and very hard to catch. After a snowstorm, though, she was finally rescued, and the timing couldn’t have been more lifesaving.
Fayetteville Animal Protection Society says, “That very same day, 11 newborn puppies were discovered hidden under a shed nearby. Miraculously, they were alive and had clearly been born within the last 24 hours. After completing her required stray hold at another facility, Jessica and her puppies came to FAPS. She was underweight, scared, and clearly exhausted.”

Stray dogs are particularly susceptible to fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites, which are all especially dangerous for young puppies. Thanks to your clicks, trivia participation, shopping for a cause, and direct donations, though, FAPS was given preventive meds for these conditions through our partner Greater Good Charities’ GOODS program. They were able to use these meds on Jesscia to protect her and her puppies when they were little. The puppies later got their own treatment when they were old enough.

FAPS says, “The timing and scale of this intake were overwhelming, but the donated NexGard+ made it more manageable. It helped us provide Jessica and her puppies with a clean, parasite-free start to their journey. Today, Jessica is thriving, and her puppies are healthy, growing fast, and finding forever homes—because of donors like you.”
