Woman Lures Feral Kitten Out of Dumpster With a Can of Spam

In 2013, my cat Shadow passed. I swore to never get another pet again and threw away all my cat stuff. Then one day, I was walking past the dumpsters of my apartment complex and I saw a little flash of black go by.

Upon further investigation, I saw that it was a tiny black feral kitten, too young to be on its own. I went back to my apartment to get some kind of food to entice the kitty with, but I got rid of my cat stuff and only had a can of spam. So, I took the spam to the kitten, and as she was nibbling on it, I scooped her up and took her home. Her eyes were still blue, and she could fit into my cookie jar.

She quickly acclimated to her new environment, and I named her Kali, aka Turd, aka Turdy McGee, and Monica Turdinsky. She would sleep on my pillow above my head and drool but never sat on anyone’s lap. Now she lays on my chest with her face in my hair and drools. Still no laps!

She has the best personality and is a very sweet talkative little girl who stole my heart. I am so glad I rescued her. But who rescued who?
